The driveways in our area are all asphalt and after a while they all fade. Ours was well beyond the point of looking new and I have a quick way to refresh the driveway to make your house look brand new!
If you look next door, you can tell the huge difference between the two driveways. We had someone stop by one day and quote us $300 to refinish it which got me thinking and researching. I found this product at Lowes called BLACK JACK Drive-Maxx 700 Asphalt Sealer. If you can paint a wall, you can refinish a driveway. I grabbed two buckets of this and an asphalt squeegee and go through this project in 2 hours and under $60.
First, you want to check the area for any cracks. Luckily, we didn’t have any but if you do, you’ll need to fill those in with an asphalt filler before moving on to the resurfacer.
Then, the directions say to turn the bucket upside down to allow it to mix well before opening. Once you do that, crack the bucket open and start around the edges. I used a cheap hand brush to go around the edges of the driveway, starting at the top.
Next, I poured some of the material out and spread it in sections at a time until there was an even coat.
Two buckets and two hours later, we had ourselves a brand new driveway! Check out the difference!
